Bizango is a secret society in Haitian Vodou tradition associated with nocturnal justice, the zombification of wrongdoers, and the enforcement of community norms outside the formal legal system. Foreign accounts — particularly Wade Davis's sensationalist treatment — fixated on its connection to zombification, but scholars like Karen Ramsey place Bizango within a wider tradition of sosyete sekrè that function as feared yet relied-upon alternative legal orders, alongside Chanpwèl and Zobòp.
