Saint Jean Louverture

Haitian RevolutionLast Updated · Apr 23, 2026

Saint-Jean Louverture was one of the biological sons of toussaint-louverture and suzanne-louverture, and the least documented member of the Louverture family's inner circle.

He appears in toussaint-brest-1802 as one of the "two older children" directed by the Minister of Marine to Bayonne following the family's deportation from Saint-Domingue after Toussaint's arrest in June 1802. The other older child was isaac-louverture.
