Bréda Plantation was the plantation near Haut-du-Cap on the Northern Plain where Toussaint Louverture spent much of his life in slavery and early freedom. It is one of the key sites for understanding his double formation: both intimate with plantation management and inseparable from the world the revolution would destroy.
