Minkisi

Minkisi are Central African power objects associated especially with Kongo ritual practice. In the vault they matter because they help explain how the charged bundles of the Mackandal archive and later Haitian object traditions should be read: not as random superstition, but as materially constructed containers of force, relation, and obligation.
