Review pass: Completed (2026-03-27) — Atlantic microhistory pass focused on the 1731-1732 voyage of the Diligent, Durand's journal, Jakin, and the Vannes/Nantes-Whydah-Martinique route

Graph review in this pass: Created robert durand and jakin; strengthened bight of benin, moc people, and moc sources Overview Harms gives the vault something the broader Atlantic studies cannot: one French slaving voyage followed closely enough to make its local contingencies visible. Instead of talking about "the slave trade" as a system in the abstract, he reconstructs the 1731-1732 voyage of the Diligent from Brittany to the Bight of Benin, across the Atlantic, through Martinique, and back into litigation. That makes the book one of the best microhistorical companions to the more synthetic work of smallwood saltwater, mustakeem slavery sea, and rediker slave ship.
