Overview
AyiboPost was founded in 2014 by Jetry Dumont and Naïké Michel. Dumont, who had returned to Haiti after earning a finance degree in the United States, began the project as a participatory blog — an open platform where young Haitians inside the country and across the diaspora could share analysis and commentary. For the first two years the platform was relatively informal, but it gradually defined a sharper editorial mission: explanatory, investigative journalism that breaks down complex national crises for a Haitian public that other media often took for granted as either unreachable or uninterested.
