Marronnage — Fugitive Slave Advertisements

Ran-Away From the Subscriber, on the 4th December last, a country born Negro Fellow, named WILL, about fifty years of age, five feet five inches high – he has lost the half of his left ear, and generally wears a handkerchief about his head to hide it; had on when he went away, a blue jacket and trowsers, but probably may change his dress. It is supposed, that he either lurking about the city or on Sullivan’s Island. A reward of TEN DOLLARS will be paid on his being lodged in the work-house.
