Marronnage — Fugitive Slave Advertisements

Strayed Into a Plantation, in St. John’s Parish, on the 7th instant, a New NEGRO BOY, about 14 or 15 years of age, says his name is PETER, but cannot tell his owner’s name; he is about 4 feet 6 inches high, has a scar on one side of his face, dressed in white Negro Cloth. Whoever has lost said Negro, is requested to pay charges and take him away.
